Although we use our brains for general motor skills, communication, and thought everyday, many of us are oblivious to the wonders of this organ inside the cranium.
Brain Awareness Week is a global campaign to get kids and the community engaged in brain research, and to educate about the importance of brain safety.
Graduate students and faculty from the University of Utah’s Interdepartmental Program in Neuroscience fanned out across the Salt Lake Valley to teach young students previously unknown facts about the brain. One of the stops they made was Neil Armstrong Academy.
Students learned how the brain feels, how synapses work inside the body, and how to best protect the brain against injury and damage.
