Hundreds of families from several communities in Granite School District came together Thursday evening for Noche Familiar Latina – a district wide event for Latino families to connect with district leaders and gather information about educational opportunities.
The evening included several student performances from multiple Granite District high schools. In addition, attendees heard from several Latino community leaders, including Utah Coalition of La Raza Board President Archie Archuleta and Eduardo Arnal Palermo, Mexico’s consul general for Utah.
Overall the event was an educational experience for all parties. Families learned about academic prospects, and district and community leaders received greater insight about the needs of Latino families.
