Scores of students from across the state, including several from Granite School District, gathered at the SkyWest Hangar recently for an exclusive opportunity to take part in aviation training.
The Aeronautics Education Advisory Board, led by Granite CTE specialist Donna Lloyd, organized the 4th annual Aviation Open House for students interested in taking to the skies for their future careers. Hundreds of participants took part in tours, flight simulations, and discussions with airport officials.
“We attended the open house with my son, who has dreamed of being a pilot for as long as I can remember,” noted one attendee. “It was the perfect opportunity to speak with those who know what he needs to concentrate on.”
The Open House will be held next spring for all students interested in aviation. Organizers hope to see more people take advantage of what the event has to offer.
