Dozens of young thespians from several junior high schools in the district gathered to perform duets, monologues, musical numbers, and small scenes during the Invitational Jr. High Drama Festival at Jefferson Junior High.
Students played the part of several characters from a myriad of famous productions, including Macbeth, Seussical the Muscial, As You Like It, and Miracle Worker.
Retired GSD drama teacher Karen Whiting urged all participants to learn something from the experience.
“I don’t want any of you to ask yourselves, ‘so, what?’ when you leave this auditorium,” she said. “This is a chance for all of you to learn from each other.”
