Like many recent graduates, former Granite Technical Institute student Alexis Schmid is pursuing higher education using the skills she learned in high school academic programs.
Unlike most, however, Alexis is also pursuing a spotlight on the world stage as she competes in the 2014 Miss International Pageant – a major beauty pageant aimed at promoting “world peace, goodwill and understanding.”
Prior to entering the contest, Alexis worked her way to becoming a certified pharmacy technician through programs offered at the GTI. She is currently employed at the University of Utah Medical Center as a pharmacy technician, and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Alexis will compete at the 2014 Miss International Pageant on August 1, 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida.
