Dozens of students from Olympus High School became shoe fitters and instant role models for hundreds of Academy Park Elementary students during a day filled with service and smiles.

Earlier in the year, Olympus High students teamed up with the nonprofit group Samaritan’s Feet to raise funds to purchase a new pair of shoes for every student at Academy Park Elementary.

Last week the shoes arrived at Academy Park accompanied by a group of Olympus High students who distributed the shoes one-by-one to excited kids in grades K-6.

As each young student was being fitted for shoes, the older students took the opportunity to talk with their newfound friends about their interests, plans and goals in life.
