Young orators from across the district used a plethora of skills to receive high marks at the Utah State Debate Meets for elementary and junior high schools.

In addition, Brielle Reichert of Evergreen Jr. High took first place in middle division of the Future Problem Solving International Scenario Writing Contest.
The competition requires students to write a futuristic story based on one of the Future Problem Solving Program current year topics. The composition must have a maximum of 1,500 words, and be set at least 20 years into the future.
This year, 207 stories were submitted to the competition. Brielle took the top spot in one of three different divisions.
