Rachel Slovensky’s entry in the Utah Law Day Art Contest vibrantly displays the heavy issues that press on the minds of voters in Utah.
The piece is a collage of ideas, symbols, and emotions that explain how Rachel views our ballot system; and it’s no surprise to hear that her art nabbed second place in the junior high school division for Salt Lake and Davis counties.
The annual Art and the Law competition allows Utah students to explore the legal system using visual arts. This year’s theme was “Every Vote Matters.”
Rachel received $50 for her submission, and her art will be displayed in the rotunda of the Matheson Courthouse.
