A new 3,000 square-foot rambler in West Valley City represents the capstone of months of hard work and dedication for students in construction trades classes at the Granite Technical Institute.
Students under the direction of licensed contractors built the three-bedroom, two-bath house over the course of the school year. The opportunity to learn job skills on site is an invaluable asset for the students as they prepare to enter college and the workforce.
The home will be sold to a moderate-income family thanks to a partnership with the Utah Housing Corporation to prove affordable, well-built homes for the community.
This will be the latest addition to a handful of other homes in the area that GTI students have built from start to finish during the last few years.
