For most students, the month of August is usually accompanied with feelings of dread and alarm at the passing of summer and the start of the school year.
Not so for dozens of student body officers who anticipate the first day of school with buoyant enthusiasm. Indeed, if the annual SBO Summit at the Granite Education Center was any indication of the year to come, we are certainly in for a treat.
During a special luncheon, student government members from all eight high schools in Granite gathered to share input with district administrators on a broad number of topics.
The camaraderie among student leaders was palpable as they discussed plans to involve their peers in school events and set goals to prevent bullying.
