Hunter High electronics/robotics teacher Scott Watson was one of 24 educators nationwide selected to attend the Air Force Recruiting Service’s FIRST Leadership Program.
Hosted at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, the Program allowed Watson and other invited teachers to meet with senior Air Force leaders and learn how airmen execute missions as it relates to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) subjects.
“We think showing these teachers Air Force capabilities and missions will make a connection between their current FIRST efforts and future opportunities for their students,” said Strategic Marketing Division chief Colonel Marcus Johnson.
Watson and his students have long been involved in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) activities on local and national levels.
