Mike Fraser, Granite’s assistant superintendent of School Leadership and Improvement Services, remembers his time at Cyprus High School with fondness.
“This is a very special place to me,” Fraser said. “My experience at Cyprus High molded me as a young man.”
As a student, Fraser was involved in all sorts of activities at the school, including football, golf, and even the men’s barbershop chorus, although he wasn’t prepared to perform a musical number in front of the Cyprus student body.
In honor of his contributions to the community, Fraser was inducted to the Cyprus High School Hall of Fame during a tribute assembly for notable graduates and teachers.
Fraser was inducted alongside Pirate alum John Sudbury, who best known as the Utah Jazz “superfan” and a longtime Ute Conference football coach.
“I’m happy to be a Pirate for life,” Sudbury said.
Cyprus High also named three former teachers as Cyprus Legends, a prestigious honor given to only ten individuals prior to the assembly.
Many former students remember the contributions Charles Brown, Howard Condie, and Jennifer Orison to the Cyprus community.
