Administrators and students at Granger High School joined with members of the West Valley City community to honor the distinguished efforts of Sherri Jepson Winder with a new tree and plaque on the southeast side of Granger’s football field.
“This is the perfect place for a permanent reminder of Sherri’s contributions to the community,” said Granger High principal David Dunn.
Winder left a legacy of service in the West Valley City and Taylorsville communities. Two of her children, Mike Winder and Aimee Newton, have held or continue to hold public offices in West Valley City and Salt Lake County.
Winder passed away in a car accident in Washington County in 2011. At the time of her passing, she was a staff member for Rep. Jason Chaffetz.
