Wheeler Historic Farm is the perfect classroom environment for Kristina Gowans and her Granite Technical Institute students.

As an agricultural sciences teacher, Kristina helps her students become familiar with animals and the livestock industry. On site at Wheeler Farm, Kristina instructs her students on the proper techniques for herding sheep into a pen. As her students can tell you, it’s more difficult than it looks.

Kristina’s agricultural expertise combined with her superb teaching strategies earned her the KSL/Zions Bank Teacher Feature Award – a weekly recognition highlighting outstanding teachers throughout Utah.

Kristina received a plaque from Zions Bank, and overnight stay at Anniversary Inn, a gift certificate for dinner at The Roof Restaurant, and season tickets to Hale Centre Theater.
