Students and teachers at Diamond Ridge Elementary went the extra mile to express their gratitude on Custodian Appreciation Day.
Here’s how it all went down:
“Last Thursday we had a fire drill to get everyone outside. After the fire drill, we all went to the back of our school and radioed Loni Brandol that we needed her.
“To her surprise we presented her with a basket full of goodies donated from our staff, as well as thank you cards and posters made by the students. We then had all 800+ students help pick up trash in and out of our school and clean marks off of the floors. It was quite a sight! I heard one student say as he picked up trash, ‘This is going to make her so happy!’ Yes it did!”
“Later we also presented a basket to her assistant, Dave Lujan. This is sure to be a tradition at our school. We also talked about how important it is for students to appreciate those people in their lives that do so much but do not get the recognition they deserve.”
