Four young trees became a permanent part of Arcadia Elementary Monday thanks to a donation from TreeUtah.
The trees are hardy, drought-resistant plants that will thrive with the help of students and staff. TreeUtah donated the trees as part of their mission to increase urban forests in the state.
“The trees will be the crowning glory to all the efforts to spruce up our facility to look, be and feel good on the inside and outside,” said Arcadia principal Cecilia Jabakumar.
Representatives from TreeUtah delivered the trees to the school and taught students about how to take care of them. Multiple classes pitched in to help place the trees in their permanent spots on the north side of the school.
