Pleasant Green speech pathologist Pam Morgan beamed with pride as the crowd of parents, students and staff in the multipurpose room sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her father.
The birthday tribute was quickly followed by a standing ovation in gratitude for her father’s military service, which began more than 70 years ago.
Lt. Col. Lawrence Morgan served in the European theater during World War 2 under Gen. George S. Patton. He recently celebrated his 97th birthday.
Pleasant Green’s honoring of Lt. Col. Morgan coincided with the school’s annual Patriotic Program, which included musical numbers, speeches, and a flag ceremony by members of the Taylorsville High J.R.O.T.C.
