What does it take to be counted among Santa’s elves? Turns out you don’t need pointy ears, just an open heart and a willing attitude.
That was the sentiment among volunteers and Granite Education Foundation staff members who sifted through mountains of donated items to assemble scores of gifts sacks for children across Granite School District.
Granite Education Foundation’s “Santa Sacks” program serves hundreds of impoverished children aged Pre-K – 6th grade who, under most circumstances, are not able to fully participate in holiday festivities. Each Santa Sack is filled with clothing items, toiletries, art supplies, books, toys, and other gifts to brighten a child’s holiday season.
The Foundation’s staff and volunteers work all year long to gather supplies, make blankets, and collaborate with businesses to secure donations to fill the sacks.
