Students at Wasatch Junior High are determined to serve their community this holiday season beyond the typical food drive.
As part of the “Be Our Guest” serve project, Wasatch welcomed community members inside the school for special workshops taught by highly qualified students. Topics covered included computer and smartphone basics, memory skills, art mediums, nutrition, slang vocabulary, and earthquake safety.
In addition, guests watched Spanish skits, musical numbers, and dance performances. Many of the workshops included sessions where guests learned games and took part in interactive academic lessons.
“In each session our students taught and/or participated with their guests in meaningful activities,” said Wasatch principal Christine Judd. “This is a great opportunity to learn from each other and bring people of all ages together in a positive way.”
