Completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the most important step to getting financial aid for college.
Submitting the FAFSA is required for many scholarships and student loans. Students may complete the FAFSA online at https://fafsa.ed.gov on their own or with the help of their school counselor. Tax information from last year (2014) is required to complete the FAFSA.
Don’t assume that you are not eligible for financial aid. Most families can qualify for federal financial aid regardless of income or assets.
FAFSA completion nights will be held at each high school during the next two months. Counselors and school staff will be on site at these events to help students complete their FAFSA.
