At first glance, a high school can be overwhelming to an elementary-age student.
The building is larger, the students are taller, and the opportunities are greater. But before they know it, these young students will enter the doors of their high school eager to take on the challenge to graduate.
At Taylorsville High School, sixth-graders from every elementary school in the network were invited to a special assembly showcasing the plethora of activities, athletics, academics, and programs available at the high school. The central message of the assembly was for students to prepare now for their future academic experience.
“In sixth grade, every door of the future is still open to you,” said Superintendent Dr. Martin Bates.
The event was capped off with students shouting, “2021, 2021! We’re the Class of 2021!”
