Sixth-graders in Carri Cooper’s class at Philo Farnsworth Elementary took books by the horns during the past few weeks.
As part of KSL’s Read Today challenge, the class totaled 12,000 reading minutes in two weeks, which was enough to win the special prize – free tickets to the Professional Bull Riders Rodeo.
Deanie Wimmer of KSL and professional bull rider Jay Miller delivered the good news to Ms. Cooper’s class during an assembly where all students learned about the benefits of reading, which go way beyond rodeo tickets.
