Hundreds of elementary students found themselves at the center of attention this week for parents, administrators and guests from around the country.
Schools welcomed visitors near and far who came to see how students and staff were adapting to The Leader in Me program – a multi-year initiative based on the “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen R. Covey. The program is designed to equip students with leadership habits by integrating the 7 Habits into the culture of the school.
Multiple schools throughout the District have implemented The Leader in Me program in the past few years, and this week was a chance for students to showcase their talents and demonstrate their leadership skills to broad audiences
Earlier in the week student leaders and teacher presenters from three Granite schools – Vista, Bennion and Taylorsville – participated as greeters, panelists, and speakers at the Utah Leader in Me Symposium at the Davis Conference Center.
In the spirit of the symposium, several schools hosted leadership events to display student talents and classroom lessons.
