Dozens of elementary students from schools throughout the District took over the GEC Café last week in the 2015 Future Chefs competition.
The annual nationwide challenge invites fourth grade students to develop their own kid-friendly recipes and become actively involved in making good nutritional choices. Last year’s competition featured a Healthy Sandwich Challenge.
This year participants were tasked with sharing their favorite snack recipe. All contestants made their concoctions on site with the help of professional chefs from Granite Food Services.
