Softball players past and present paused before the Wolverine’s game against West High Tuesday to dedicate their newly restored home field.

The refurbished diamond was named after current coach Wes Haymond, whose name has become synonymous with Hunter’s softball program. Along with coaching the Wolverines, Haymond is a Hall of Fame member of the International Softball Congress.

“We are naming [the field] after Wes because of the time and effort he has put into the field and Hunter softball for the past 14 years,” said Hunter athletic director Pam Olson.
