West Lake Jr. High is celebrating 50 years of educating the youth of West Valley City and its surrounding areas.

The school opened in 1964 and the very first graduating class was during the 1964-1965 school year. To mark the milestone, the school will be celebrating the past during the entire week of April 27 through May 1, 2015.

The 2014-2015 school staff and students will host an open house for all who attended West Lake or were employed at West Lake over the past fifty years. A 20-minute motivational video, “Livin the Dream,” of testimonials from former West Valley City students will be shown in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
