Music theory is a heavy subject, but our students are mastering concepts at a rapid rate.

Most secondary schools in the District use the online platform Breezin’ Thru Theory to help students become fluent in reading music. The program offers a Challenge Cup tournament where students complete drills in a set timeframe.

Taylorsville High won the Challenge Cup by one second. Honorable Mentions were rewarded to Wasatch Jr. High and Cottonwood High for their participation.

Side Note: Breezin’ Thru Theory’s list of the top 25 schools in North America for drills completed includes three GSD schools: Cottonwood High (#6), Taylorsville High (#12), and Bennion Jr. High (#22).
