Two years after being struck by a vehicle on his way to school, Hunter High student Walter Peralta is prepped to graduate with academic accolades.
That isn’t to say Walter has completely recovered from the accident, far from it. He uses a walker and wheelchair to get around, and his speech is much slower than it was before the incident. Yet this young man has persevered throughout his high school years with academic dexterity and unending determination.
In celebration of his inspiring recovery, Walter was named Granite School District’s 2015 ‘Absolutely Incredible Kid’ during Hunter High’s final assembly of the year.
Walter received a scholarship from Granite Credit Union, a laptop from ValCom, and gifts from Granite Education Foundation, Real Salt Lake and Real Monarchs.
