Our Educator of the Week is Granger High math teacher Hyrum Okeson, who chooses to look beyond a student’s current situation and focuses instead on what they can become.
I knew you when! I was at Granger High as the PTA President when you came and started on your career. I remember you took our small girls soccer team to Hawaii. You gave me soccer shirt that I still wear today. It is one of my favorites. I like the shirt you are wearing and would love one of those! All my kids graduated from there under the proud G-House!
I have wondered alot about the teachers from original Granger and who survived the changes.
I was thrilled to see you still there representing us.
The part that made me sad about the new high school is that I don’t feel that they made any effort at all to invite back any of the students and/or the past PTA presidents or booster club presidents as I was both and on the committee to get the new school going. I am glad they honored you ad you are still at the school.
