Hunter High students eat crickets, dog food to help send boy to Disney World

November 2015Granite Schools

Seven-year-old Carson has always wanted to visit Florida’s major theme parks, and with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Hunter High students, his dream will soon become a reality.

The Wolverines raised $4,500 for Carson during a weeklong fundraising campaign. The total amount was announced during an assembly that capped off the initiative.

During the assembly, Hunter High’s student council gathered last-minute donations and took part in a number of challenges, including waxing legs, eating crickets, and munching dog food, as a ‘penance’ for the student body reaching fundraising goals.

While the challenges were comical to witness, the highlight of the event was definitely Carson and his parents being greeted by repeated standing ovations, school spirit cheers, and overall enthusiasm by Hunter students.
