Frosty weather has settled in Utah, and members of Kearns High School’s student clubs have noticed many of their peers don’t have adequate clothes to block the cold.
That observation ballooned into a cooperative project to get warm winter gear into the hands of their fellow students who lack sufficient winter items. The Kearns Freshman Academy got the ball rolling by collecting winter gear from other student groups, faculty, parents, and neighbors.
Kearns High Key Club members took over from there and spent an afternoon sorting the items and placing them on tables in the school’s library. The gear was available the following day for any student to pick up.
“I know some of the classes with high needs, like special education, plan on bringing their classes down,” said Kearns High advisor Jill Muir.
