Woodrow Wilson Elementary students, like their peers throughout the district, represent a wide range of cultures, countries and customs.
This tree was created to showcase the many ethnic backgrounds and beliefs of Wilson students, who handmade each of the ornaments.
“The Diversity Tree gives students the opportunity to view and understand more about cultures different than their own. By learning about and celebrating other cultures, students can develop respect and open-mindedness for others with whom they associate and interact.”
Bethany Johnson says
This tree is magnificent! It is beautiful not only in the visual sense, but touches me because it was created – not with items from a store, but by a unified vision and the skills and talents of children. Applause and blessings!
