A few dozen elementary students wearing white smocks and toques filled the GEC cafe kitchen to prepare their own breakfast recipes for judging in a regional cook-off.
The annual Future Chefs National Challenge invites fourth-grade students to develop their own kid-friendly recipes and become actively involved in making good nutritional choices. This year’s competition, which began in December with hundreds of contestants, asked kids to create a healthy breakfast recipe.
