Cottonwood High student body officers and administrators ceremoniously ‘flipped the switch’ of the school’s newly installed solar array this week.
The school joins more than 100 Utah organizations that received funding from Rocky Mountain Power’s Blue Sky renewable energy program customers. Blue Sky customers go above and beyond to green their personal power use and help make community-based renewable energy projects possible in their state.
The solar array will produce 20,768 kilowatt-hours annually, which is equivalent to powering approximately 178 light bulbs for one year. This also translates to Cottonwood High eliminating nearly 28,000 pounds of C02 emissions every year.
Our thanks to Rocky Mountain Power and Hunt Electric for their support.
