Dozens of young painters, sculptors and sketchers representing eight high schools will gathered to transform blank canvases and clumps of clay into works of art in the space of a single evening.
Each participant in Granite School District’s Art Night Olympics Competition had four hours to create a finished piece in his or her chosen medium. The time crunch meant students had to be thorough and quick in order to catch the attention of the judges – local artists and Granite art teachers.

Mindy says
When do they hold this Art Night Olympics competition? Do they allow the public to come watch, or are the pieces on display somewhere? My daughter is in elementary and would love this!
Granite Schools says
The competition is typically during the last week of January each year. Pieces are often displayed at high schools thereafter, but many students also choose to keep or sell their work. The event is open to the public, and anyone is welcome to attend.
