Videos: United Way honors Kearns High principal, Cottonwood High students

United Way of Salt Lake’s Changemaker award is given to individuals and organizations who promote positive change in their community through diligent action.

Kearns High School principal Maile Loo was honored for helping to change the odds for thousands of students by emphasizing increased graduation rates and college readiness.

United Way also recognized refugee students at Cottonwood High School for their commitment to education:

    Maile, We have made some great strides here at Kearns High School and much of that has to do with your tireless efforts and the support you’ve given students, staff and the community have made this progress possible. Thank you for your example and hard work. You Rock!
