Finding a seat in Olympus High School’s auditorium for the ‘Be Strong, Swap a Heart’ assembly was like unwrapping a gift.

As students and staff filed in, they saw t-shirts draped on every seat in the room; each one a story about an individual person. As they took their seats, they will wore the personality of someone else in the school.

In preparation for the assembly, Olympus High School’s Parent-Teacher-Student Association distributed t-shirts to every student and staff member at the school and asked them to color and draw on the shirts in a way that represents their interests and passions. They were also instructed to handwrite a letter to accompany the shirt to describe themselves and their design.

Students and staff then wore their new shirt the following day and sought out the original designer. The result, the Olympus High PTSA hopes, will be more friendships and understanding among students who may otherwise never know one another.
