Two outstanding educators in our district are part of a select group of 11 educators statewide to receive this year’s Huntsman Award for Excellence in Education.
Debbie Koji, principal of South Kearns Elementary, and Suzette Prevo-Wilson, 5th grade teacher at Fremont Elementary, were both surprised with the news while on the job. Mrs. Koji was called into a surprise assembly where she was greeted with applause and cheers, and Mrs. Prevo-Wilson had visitors, family members, and colleagues pour into her classroom in the middle of the school day.
All recipients of the Huntsman Award receive $10,000 and a crystal obelisk award. Nominations are received from throughout the state and reviewed by a board consisting of some of the Utah’s most prominent citizens and eminent educators, including past award winners.
Congratulations to Debbie and Suzette!
