Evergreen Jr. High is one of 56 schools across the country to create one-of-a-kind ornaments for the 2018 National Christmas Tree experience in Washington, D.C.
The Evergreen students’ handcrafted ornaments will adorn the tree representing Utah, which will be part of a circle of 56 smaller trees that surround the National Christmas Tree. The whole display will be unveiled as part of the annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 28.
Working under the direction of Evergreen art teacher Sutton Morgan, a few dozen students would meet after school on Tuesday afternoons to design and paint images that symbolize our great state. The whole project took multiple weeks to complete, and the results are wonderful:
Lindsay Adams says
This is great! I’m so glad that Mrs. Morgan takes the time to have this art club after school, and that the kids had the opportunity to create the ornaments! Good work everyone!
