Schools, district office stand in support of fallen South Salt Lake officer

December 2018Granite Schools

South Salt Lake Officer David Romrell was killed during a clash with suspects near 3300 South and 300 West. He was known as a kind-hearted yet courageous warrior during the 11 months he served with the department.

During a funeral procession along State Street Granite students and staff took the opportunity to pay their respects to Officer Romrell and show support for his family, friends and colleagues. Wilson Elementary, Granite Park Jr. High, Lincoln Elementary, Moss Elementary, and the Granite Education Center are situated on or close to State Street, meaning several hundred participants were able to stand and wave American flags and signs of support as the procession rolled by.
