We are excited to announce the return of the #GSDEdTech Teacher Chat to your Twitter feeds. This first in a new series of monthly chats will happen on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 4-4:30 P.M via the #GSDEdTech hashtag on Twitter. The Educational Technology department will sponsor this monthly educational chat to provide an easy way for diverse educators throughout the district to connect with each other and share ideas specific to our community. The chat is open to all K-12 educators, staff members, and any interested community members.
Our March 2017 chat will focus on Information Literacy. We hope that you will join us in sharing and learning about tools and strategies for increasing our students’ information literacy and resource evaluation skills in whatever grade or content area you teach. Look for the chat questions and more details to be posted on our twitter feed next week. If you are new to twitter chats, you can find out how to join them here.
[Edit: The time of the chat was originally posted here as occurring from 4 until 5 P.M., but the chat will actually only last 30 minutes. Sorry for any confusion.]

This year the Educational Technology department debuted an online learning course on classroom technology for all new teachers in Granite School District. Working with teacher mentors and school technology specialists, new teachers complete modules and earn badges as they master a few of the learning tools available in the district.
The Educational Technology Endorsement Program (ETEP) is an intensive 2-year professional development program provided to a select group of Granite teachers by the Granite Educational Technology department. It comprises a blend of evening face-to-face sessions and online learning in which teachers explore ways to leverage classroom technology in a constructivist, student-centered approach to increase instructional effectiveness and student achievement. If you have any questions about the ETEP program please contact Kristen Johnson in the Educational Technology department.
Congratulations to the first graduating classes of Granite’s Educational Technology Endorsement Program!
