PLAN (Professional Learning Alignment Navigator) is an online system provided by Granite School District’s Talent Development Department to guide employees through the Professional Growth and Evaluation process. Each year teachers in Granite School District create a plan for professional growth, and with comments and supervision by their administrator, reflect on it midway through the year and at the end of the year.
How to Find PLAN
To access PLAN, visit https://granite.truenorthlogic.com and enter your Active Directory credentials. You can also find a link to PLAN in the District Resources menu of the Employee Portal and in the Teacher Links area of the +Employee Intranet+. This quick video shows how to access PLAN via the Employee Intranet.
The first step of creating your professional growth plan will be to identify any supervisors who will be accepting your goals and commenting on your reflections. You can add as many people as supervisors as you wish. Each supervisor will receive an email notification when you have completed your goals and reflections.
If you supervisor changes at a later time, you can follow these instructions to add the new supervisor and remove the old supervisor from your PLAN.
Instructions: How to Change Your Supervisor in PLAN
Once you have identified your supervisor(s) you will take a self-assessment to help you decide which goals to work on. You can also take as many self-assessments as you wish. The important steps to remember as you watch the video above are that you must Mark Complete to see a green check, and you must complete the Share step in your self-assessment so that your supervisor can view it.
Creating a Goal
Your supervisor will tell you how many goals she wants you to create and achieve this year. As you create a goal you will add which standards it addresses, projected completion dates, projected amount of time spent, how you will know you have achieved your goal, and activities you will complete to achieve the goal. When you have created your goal it is very important that you mark it complete. You can still edit it later as needed. When you have marked it complete, your supervisor(s) will receive an email notification, at which point they will read your goals and activities, make comments and accept or reject them. You will receive an email notification when your supervisor has completed this step, and the Supervisor Review of Goals step will get a green check mark.
At the mid-year point and at the end of the year you will be asked to reflect on how your work on your goal(s) is going. Your supervisor will receive an email notification when you have completed these reflections and will be able to read them and make comments. The steps are the same for both of these reflections, so we will only show you here how to do the mid-term reflection. Feel free to come back to this site later when it is time for you to do these reflections, to review.
It is always a good idea to make a hard copy of your PLAN at each step for your own files. Sometimes systems fail, and it’s a good idea to protect your work. The video above shows you how to make your reflections, and how to generate a print copy. Remember, as with each step, until you Mark Complete and see a green check next to the step your supervisor will not be notified your work is done.
