On August 15th, 16th and 17th, Granite Food Services had the privilege of catering the 2017 GSD Conference where over 4400 teachers from the Granite School District attended three days of professional development classes for the upcoming school year. Participants gathered at one of 4 different high schools where Granite Food Services provided a wide spread of delicious lunch entrées. Options included a deli and sandwich bar, an outdoor grill for hamburgers, hotdogs and BBQ chicken, a salad bar, a grab-and-go table with boxed sandwiches and salads, and two rotating stations that offered something different each day. From the carving station, attendees enjoyed roast turkey, prime rib, and pork loin. At the World of Flavors table, Granite Foods served a variety of Italian, Chinese, and Mexican favorites. In addition, snacks and drinks were placed in the halls for attendees to grab between classes. Sodexo even sent 4 chefs and 4 general managers in from other states to assist us in this massive event.
We’re proud to say that the event was a huge success! Many of those in attendance commented that the wonderful lunches were their favorite part of the conference and they were impressed with the quality and execution of the meals we provided!
Some of the other comments we heard were:
“These meals were better than the food on a cruise ship!”
“The assortment of choices is amazing!”
“This the most moist turkey I’ve ever had. How did they do it? I want to ask the chefs!”
“The prime rib was better than a five-star restaurant’s.”
We’d like to thank all the staff members and Nutrition Workers who helped make this event so fantastic!
