This purpose can be accomplished by providing additional resources for high poverty schools to enhance educational opportunities for disadvantaged students. Title I funds must be used in addition to District and State funds. All of the services students would receive in the absence of Title I must be in place before Title I funds are used.

Title I provides flexible funding that may be used to provide additional instructional staff, professional development, extended-time programs, and other strategies for raising student achievement in high-poverty schools. The program focuses on promoting schoolwide reform in high-poverty schools and ensuring students’ access to scientifically based instructional strategies and challenging academic content. Title I provisions provide a mechanism for holding states, school districts, and schools accountable for improving the academic achievement of all students and turning around low-performing schools while providing alternatives to students in such schools to enable those students to receive a high-quality education.

District Annual Title I Parent Meeting

Granite School District will hold its annual Title I parent meeting for the 2025-2026 school year on Wednesday, September 17, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at our Granite Office Building (2500 S. State Street, South Salt Lake, UT 84115) Auditorium D102. Presenters will include the district Title I director, Educational Equity director, Family and Community Engagement director, and others. We will receive input on how Title I funds should be spent in Granite District, learn supports offered to Multilingual families, receive input on our Title I plan as well as our district Parent Engagement plan, outline resources available to families in Granite School District, teach parents how they can support their children academically at home, and outline rights of parents whose children attend Title I schools.

Input from parents during the meeting will be crucial in shaping our policies, plans, and funding. We also encourage Title I stakeholders, especially parents and instructional staff at Title I schools, to complete this feedback <a
