January \/ February 2025 Updates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Personalized postcards mailed to affected families second and third weeks of January 2025<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Personalized postcards were mailed from the communications office to affected families the second and third weeks of January 2025. Receiving schools are busy reaching out to families new to their boundaries to welcome them and let them know that a special permit is required if they want to stay at former location. The deadline to submit special permits for early open enrollment is February 7, 2025. Specific information about special permits is found on the Open Enrollment<\/a> page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transportation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our transportation department is working on getting bussing routes\/scheduling updated for all of the approved closures, re-opens, and changes from the December 10th Board Meeting. We will be posting an updated School Search with busing eligibility filters when they are ready, the estimated time is currently mid-April. For specific questions, you can reach out to transportation via the Granite School District Transportation Website<\/a>, but please be patient as they work through all of these changes as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that general guidelines set by the government require that to qualify for busing, you must live more than 1.5 miles from an elementary school, and more than 2 miles from junior high or high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

December 2024 Updates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Personalized letters emailed out to affected families on Friday, December 20, 2024.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Personalized emails were sent to all affected families from the communications department. Further information will also be sent by mail sometime in January. Receiving schools will also be reaching out to students in their boundary areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Closures and changes approved at December 10th board meeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the December 10, 2024, Granite School District Board of Education meeting, the board voted to accept the PAC recommendations that have been studied throughout 2024. Changes will be effective July 1, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
