Understanding and nurturing the process of sustainable change necessary for improved student learning, school culture, and community involvement. Coaches help us achieve meaningful and effective use of best practices.
Granite school district has a variety of coaches available to our teachers, specialists, and leadership. Following is a list of the available coaching services:
Instructional coaches. A rubric is provided to help us understand how we coach toward improved: Lesson design, lesson delivery, student engagement, behavior management, and classroom culture.
Literacy coaches. A rubric is provided to help us understand how we coach toward improved: Phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
SPED Specialists. A rubric is provided to help us understand how we coach toward improved: Behavioral intervention, curriculum design, instructional delivery, and IDEA compliance.
Behavior Specialists. A rubric is provided to help us understand how we coach toward improved: TBA
Multi-Language (ML) Specialists. A rubric is provided to help us understand how we coach toward improved: WIDA (World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment), sheltered instruction (SIOP), culturally responsive teaching, English language development, and appropriate curriculum and supplemental resources.
PBIS coaches. The responsibilities of the PBIS Coach include mentoring, providing assistance and guidance to the PBIS school team, school-based coordinator, and the supervisory union/district level coordinator. To accomplish this he/she must ensure that data is collected and used efficiently for decision-making.
Technology Specialists. A rubric is provided to help us understand how we coach toward improved: extending learning, enhancing learning, and engaging student in their learning.
Principals as coach. A rubric is provided to help us understand how we coach toward improved: Instruction and assessment, planning and preparation, learning environment, and professional responsibilities.
A rubric is provided to help us understand how we coach toward improved: visionary leadership, collective commitment to learning, resource management and operations, and ethical leadership.
