And though it may be easier to stand by and watch or ignore the bullying, try to keep in mind we all need a little help from time to time. Think about how you might feel if the bullying was happening to you. A simple, &#8220;that isn&#8217;t cool&#8221; or similar statement can be all that is needed, or be part of a group that says this. Yes, it takes courage to defend the person being bullied, and be sure to do so in a safe way that does not make you a victim.<\/li>\n<li>If you see someone being bullied, don\u2019t join in. If the bully tries to get you to participate, refuse and walk away.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t help spread rumors about another person. You wouldn\u2019t want rumors spread about you, so don\u2019t do it to someone else! If someone gossips to you, let it end with you \u2013 don\u2019t pass it on to others.<\/li>\n<li>Tell an adult. Don\u2019t just stand there and watch, especially if someone is being hurt physically. Tell an adult about the bully and what\u2019s going on. If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe telling an adult, ask the adult to keep your comments private.<\/li>\n<li>Offer help. When the bully is gone, try and help the person who was bullied and make sure s\/he is okay. Encourage him\/her to talk to an adult.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you help someone who is being bullied, you are not just helping someone else, you\u2019re also helping yourself.
