Parents - Are you interested in serving on the school’s community council? The school’s council allocates the LAND trust funds to assist the school in reaching their goals for school improvement. For eligibility and to be considered, you must complete the declaration of candidacy form found here or it can be picked up in the main office. Elections will be held at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year. Declaration of candidacy forms must be turned in to the Cottonwood main office by September 4, 2013. Help the Cottonwood Music Department win $1,000 for their program! Get on Facebook and "like" the Summerhays Music page. Scroll down to the actual school vote on their page, and click on Cottonwood to submit your vote! You get one vote per Facebook profile and you have to vote by May 10th so do it now!! Please make sure you vote from a computer - it won't work on a smartphone. Get your family and friends to vote - WE WANT TO WIN!!!!! Come celebrate all that is great at Cottonwood. Cottonwood High School Performing Arts Department is Proud to Announce Auditions for its 2013 fall musical TARZAN Thursday May 16th @ 2:30 in the Choir Room. Those auditioning are asked to come prepared to sing 32 bars (About a Minute) of BROADWAY music in the style of the show. All Cottonwood and AMES Students are encouraged to audition! Any Questions can be answered by Mr. Adam Wilkins in room 608 (Drama Room). Come join Cottonwood Theatre Society for a banquet! A magical night of food, rewards, friends, and fun on the 25th of May. Ask a theatre society officer for more details. Come out to the Girls Basketball Summer Camp from May 29th - June 1st. Youth Development Camp (1st-8th Grade) W-F: 5:30 pm-7:30 pm & Sat: 7:30 am-9:30 am Come to the Cottonwood Boys Basketball Summer Camp (grades 3-12) on June 10-13. You should have received a letter telling you how to get a student number from your college. This number needs to be given to the career center by May 15th. It can take up to 10 days to get your number from the college, so make sure to apply very soon! Math 1010, math 1050, and GTI medical anatomy & physiology require placement tests. Please come to the career center (room 507) for all the details. Seniors! It is time to celebrate your big accomplishments and plans after high school! On May 24 during lunch time we will have a day of pizza, music, and fun! Come ready for our Decision Day party! Congratulations Class of 2013!!! All girls interested in playing soccer for Cottonwood next year and who did not attend the parent meeting, pick up a tryout packet from Coach Heagren ASAP. They must be returned before the end of May! Attention Seniors, if you have automatic payment on paypams please have you parents remove that option. Please do not add any money to your account the last 2 weeks of school and you will need to pay cash for your lunch each day. If you are owed a refund please collect between 8 am to 12 pm in the cafeteria office. Seniors, if your Cumulative CPA is below a 2.0 you need to complete citizenship make up to graduate. It is held Monday - Thursday in room 601 from 2:20-3:20. All seniors need to check with their counselor to find out if your CPA is at or above a 2.0. See Mr. Anderson or Mr. Murdock for details. SUMMER GTI PROCEDURE: In order to be fair to the many students interested in Summer GTI, the following process had been adopted. A computer application will be available in the Career Center on April 8, 2013. Interested students should apply as soon as possible. There is a $40 fee for the summer class. This will be the deciding factor in reserving your spot. Once the fee has been paid your spot will be considered reserved on a fist come, first served basis. Please visit the Career Center if you have any questions. EVERYONE should have a plan for summer break! Come to the Career Center to learn about great camps, volunteer experiences and summer jobs. Nature High Summer Camps, Utah Business Week, U of U College of Medicine Youth Medical Programs, and many more opportunities are there for you. Applications are coming due soon. Please come to the career center and we will help you take advantage of these programs. Many are no cost or very low cost! Seniors, don't forget to inform Mr. Reyes the name of the college you will be attending, how much money you were offered from FAFSA, and the names and amounts of the scholarships you have received. He is located in the Counseling Center. Future college students! Have you visited our college advising website? You can do that by going to chscollege.weebly.com. You may go to chscollege.weebly.com to get information about scholarships, FAFSA, college prep, and the ACT. Credit Recovery will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 123 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. the deadline for completeing for the school year is April 30th for 9th, 10th and 11th grades; seniors have until May 24th.
