Q: May the test proctor (likely the classroom teacher) assist a student unable to remember how to enter responses to a question in SAGE?
A: The following information was received from the Student Assessment and Accountability section at the Utah State Office of Education. A test administrator may assist a student in navigating the test, as long as the test administrator is not guiding a student to a correct answer. In order to reduce the situation described below, the student should first be directed to the tutorial (see below) the test contains a tutorial to guide students on how to interact with an item they encounter in the test.
Teachers are also strongly encouraged to have their students use the training tests in advance of actual testing.
