Q: Is a student required to take the ACT test with their high school if the student has already taken the test?
A: The student is not required to test but may choose to do so if they wish to try to improve their score.
Q: Will the student’s score be reported to their home high school if they do not choose to retest after a previous administration?
A: The student’s score will be reported to the home high school if the student identified the school when they registered for and took the ACT.
Q: How should the high school account for students who do not take the test?
A: Students are expected to take the ACT test.
- Students will be counted as having taken the ACT if they took the test previously.
- USOE has issued guidance that the student will be excused from participating if the parent chooses for the student to opt-out (unlike SAGE testing).
- The student may be excused if unavailable or unable to test
The school should maintain a list of students excused for these reasons and provide a copy of the list to Rob Averett, Director, Student Assessment, after testing is complete.
